If some area of popular culture manages to infiltrate the overly strait-laced traditions of snooker, it must have gone seriously viral.
Forget Gangnam Style, the new craze taking the world by storm, including apparently the Newport Centre hosting the Welsh Open, is the 'Harlem Shake'.
It starts off slowly and subtly, one person showing off a move or two, and then from nowhere, the cameras flicks to utter mayhem

Even announcer Rob Walker joined in, showing off his extraordinary long limbs and frantic dance moves from the middle of the floor.
From something so quiet as snooker, their version of Harlem Shake could have been rather half-hearted, but it proved quite the opposite. Also, check out the cameraman who was rather enjoying himself too.
The dance was done prior to yesterday’s semi-final of the Welsh Open between Stephen Maguire and world number two Judd Trump, with Maguire defeating his rival 6-4 to book a place in the final.
