30min: This is all very easy for Bayern at the moment. The stats don't lie as Arsenal have yet to test Neuer in the Munich goal, while the German giants have already rifled in six attempts.
England boss Roy Hodgson is watching from inside the Emirates Stadium this evening and if he didn't fear Germany stars like Muller and Kroos before he will now.
27min: From InfostradaLive:
Arsenal have come back to win a CL match after a two goal deficit on two occasions, most recently in September 2009 when they won 3-2 away at Standard Liege after trailing by 2-0 after just five minutes. On one other occasions they drew after a two goal deficit: in March 2010 they played a 2-2 draw at home against Barcelona.
24min: And as the Bayern fans sing 'Football's Coming Home' another Arsenal player is booked for a late foul as Mikel Arteta is cautioned for a trip on Mario Mandzukic.
22min: Frustration boiling over for Arsenal as Bacary Sagna is booked for a dangerous tackle on Kroos.
21min: GOAL! Arsenal 0-2 BAYERN MUNICH
Set-piece madness from the Gunners. A corner to the near post is headed on target by Van Buyten, but despite Szczesny making the save, it's Thomas Muller from two yards out who converts the rebound. Answers on a postcard please if anyone can tell me where the home defence was in all of that.
18min: From Sportsmail's Neil Ashton at the Emirates Stadium:
'Just witnessed an Arsenal fan throw a can at some Bayern Munich supporters sitting just in front of Wenger’s dug out. Shameful behaviour. Stewards intervene.
'Walcott Arsenal’s best player so far, lot of enthusiasm on the ball, making the runs.'
16min: Bayern are controlling the tempo of this match in the opening stages as Thomas Vermaelen is booked for a late sliding challenge on Javi Martinez. Schweinstieger's free-kick from 25 yards is deflected wide for a goal kick though.
13min: From InfostradaLive:
'Bayern have now scored at least one goal in each of their last 13 CL matches, equalling their second best streak in the CL which they set twice before. Their best ever streak in the CL is scoring at least one goal in 22 consecutive matches.'
10min: The home fans to their credit are finding their voice again as Daniel van Buyten cannons a free-kick against the Arsenal wall from 25 yards.

7min: GOAL! Arsenal 0-1 BAYERN MUNICH

Big setback. The Emirates Stadium is silenced (apart from the away corner at the opposite end of the ground) as Toni Kroos hits a delicious half-volley from the edge of the box that whistles past Wojciech Szczesny. The Gunners defence could have done a little better to cut out Thomas Muller's cross there.
6min: The home fans are right behind their team this evening and so far it's rubbing off well as Theo Walcott's low cross from the right is turned behind at the far post by a defender. The resulting corner though sails over everyone's head for a goal kick.
5min: From Sportsmail's Neil Ashton at the Emirates Stadium:
'Theo Walcott playing centrally, up against Dante and Van Buyten, going to be a really difficult night for him.'
Meanwhile, Toni Kroos' corner is cleared by the Arsenal defence.
3min: Promising start for Arsenal. Santi Cazorla is released unmarked down the right by Jack Wilshere, but his low cross is deflected by Bastian Schweinsteiger into the arms of Manuel Neuer.

Fiery atmosphere: Bayern Munich fans cheer on their team inside the Emirates Stadium
Kick-off: Away we go in both games - with smoke from the flares lingering around the Emirates Stadium.
19.40: The players are out at the Emirates Stadium - not a spare seat as you would expect on a European night, with the away fans managing to smuggle in a flare or two.
19.35: One Arsenal player who won't need any motivation tonight will be Lukas Podolski. The German forward endured an unhappy spell at Bayern Munich between 2006-2009 and will be keen to remind them of the talent they let slip through their fingers.
19.30: From InfostradaLive:
FCBayern leave Mario Gomez on bench although he has scored more CL goals (25) than #Arsenal's starting XI (23).
19.27: There are a number of players one booking away from a one-match suspension this evening. Here is the list of those sitting on yellow cards:
Arsenal: Koscielny, Cazorla
Bayern Munich: Dante, Javi Martinez, Bastian Schweinsteiger
Consolation: Thierry Henry rallies his Arsenal team after scoring against Bayern Munich at Highbury in 2005, but the Gunners would still lose the tie 3-2

19.24: From InfostradaLive:
Bayern have eliminated Arsenal once in a European club competition. In the 2004/2005 CL Round of 16, they won 3-1 at home, before losing 1-0 in London. Claudio Pizarro scored twice for Bayern in their home match.
19.21: It's rare to see Arsene Wenger so angry in a press conference but in the build up towards tonight's match the Arsenal boss was particularly fiery. Read the full transcript here as Wenger took on Sportsmail's Neil Ashton.
19.18: From Sportsmail's Lee Clayton:
Arsenal tonight? Take a draw. Walcott a menace but have to keep clean sheet. 0-0 would not be bad result. Then counter attack 2nd leg. Tough.
19.15: Also notice the Malaga strikers. The Spanish outfit will start with former Arsenal forward Julio Baptista and ex-Manchester City hitman Roque Santa Cruz.
The former never really took to the Premier League while the latter had a miserable last couple of years on British shores - they've certainly bounced back.
19.12: Full line-ups from the Estadio do Dragao where the Premier League's very own Mark Clattenburg is in charge:
FC Porto v MalagaFC Porto: Helton, Danilo, Otamendi, Mangala, Alex Sandro, Gonzalez, Fernando, Joao Moutinho, Izmailov, Martinez, Varela. Subs: Fabiano, Maicon, Andre Castro, Rodriguez, Liedson, Atsu, Seba.

Referee: Mark Clattenburg (England)
19.07: There is one other last 16 tie in the Champions League this evening and it comes from the Estadio do Dragao where Porto host Malaga.
We will bring you all major incidents from that game too but our main focus will be on the action in north London.
Focused: Jack Wilshere (left) and Theo Walcott start for Arsenal

19.04: Arsenal forward Theo Walcott looks set for a central striker role against Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 clash at the Emirates Stadium.
Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey starts as Arsenal look for a response from the shock FA Cup exit against Blackburn, so France striker Olivier Giroud had to be content with a place on the bench.
Defender Laurent Koscielny recovers from illness, with captain Thomas Vermaelen expected to fill in at left-back with January signing Nacho Monreal cup-tied.
Bayern are 15 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga, with Spanish midfielder Javi Martinez the only change from the team which beat Wolfsburg as in-form Mario Mandzukic again leads the attack for last season's Champions League runners-up.
18.59: Just to highlight how dominant Bayern Munich have been recently, they have not conceded a goal in 67 days as they top the Bundesliga by 15 points - and you thought Barcelona were good.
18.56: And here are the full confirmed line-ups from the Emirates Stadium...or as it is known on European nights for sponsorship reasons, the Arsenal Stadium:
Arsenal v Bayern MunichArsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Arteta, Wilshere, Ramsey, Cazorla, Podolski, Walcott. Subs:Mannone, Diaby, Rosicky, Giroud, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Coquelin, Jenkinson.
Bayern Munich: Neuer, Lahm, Van Buyten, Dante, Alaba, Javi Martinez, Schweinsteiger, Muller, Kroos, Ribery, Mandzukic. Subs: Starke, Robben, Shaqiri, Rafinha, Gustavo, Gomez, Tymoschuk.
Referee: Svein Oddvar Moen (Norway)
18.51: Bayern Munich starting XI:
Neuer, Dante, Van Buyten, Lahm, Ribery, Javi Martinez, T. Muller, Alaba, Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Mandzukic.
18.48: Arsenal starting XI:
Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Arteta, Podolski, Wilshere, Walcott, Ramsey, Cazorla.
18.45: Let's not kid ourselves folks, there's quite a few of us that have thought if Arsenal cannot beat Blackburn, what chance have they got against one of Europe's most in-form sides?
But we all know football doesn't work like that. As sloppy as the Gunners were on Saturday, they can just as easily play some of the finest stuff on the continent. The questions is which side will turn up against Bayern Munich this evening? Team news on the way.
