Shevchenko considers shock return to football with Indonesian side Mitra Kukar

Former Chelsea and AC Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko is considering coming out of retirement to play for Indonesian side Mitra Kukar.
The Ukrainian retired from football after last summer’s European Championships but having seen an attempted career in politics stutter the 36-year-old is mulling over his options.
Shevchenko played for a team of AC Milan legends against an Indonesian All Stars XI in the country’s capital, Jakarta, last week and after the game Mitra manager Roni Fauzan told reporters that his side were negotiating a deal.

‘Obviously we’re interested in Shevchenko, but we have to continue to discuss this question, particularly the financial
aspects,’ he said.
‘Andriy has made clear that he is not against joining Mitra Kukar, but at the moment we don’t know how much he’ll be able to play. We’d like to invite Andrey for 10 games, but he apparently is happy to play no more than five times.
‘The problem is about the duration he can play for Mitra Kukar. Regarding the contract fee, I think we can provide the funds, but we need to speak with the management.’
