REVEALED: Man United will be crowned champions in April! Ferguson's side to wrestle title off City with month to spare
The bookies are already paying out on Manchester United to be crowned champions for the 20th time and this time their fans should not fear another jinx.
United may have caved in last season in spectacular fashion when the punters collected early. But with a 12-point gap over faltering noisy neighbours Manchester City, there seems little chance of lightning striking twice for Sir Alex Ferguson's side.
Agony and the ecstasy: Manchester United have opened up a 12-point lead over rivals Man City (below)
Forget Devon Loch moments or squeaky bum time. Thanks to City's self-professed lack of cojones, United are on course to wrap up the Barclays Premier League title even before it enters its final month.
Yes, the Champions League, starting with the double-header against Real Madrid, will prove a test for United's squad. But can even the most optimistic of City supporters see their bitter rivals slipping up against the likes of QPR, Norwich,
Reading, Sunderland and Aston Villa?
Champions: But Manchester City are poised to relinquish their crown to United
Ferguson's good mate Sam Allardyce might test their friendship by stealing a point at Upton Park. City may end up sharing the spoils at Old Trafford and no one fancies a trip to the Britannia to take on Stoke.
But on current form Mancini's men look like getting no more than a draw in their next fixture at home to Chelsea while they can expect to get little change out of Everton at Goodison Park either.
Time's up: Sir Alex Ferguson (right) appears destined to wrestle the title back from Roberto Mancini's hands
And with Tottenham determined to clinch a Champions League spot, Sportsmail predicts that the tile will be heading back across Manchester when Gareth Bale and company do the business against City at the back end of April.
That means United will have the league in the bag with four games remaining - they already hold the record after clinching the title with five games left in 2001 - and can set their sights on yet another treble should all have gone according to plan in Europe and the FA Cup.
You can get 25/1 on them pulling it off – worth a punt for those who have already collected.
